Sanari Candles
Introduction
History
The founder of Sanari Candles, Rebecca Aghalarpour, has a long history and love for the feeling candle light brings to her mind, body, and spirit. In fact, after reading her story, the candle is part of her daily lifestyle, not just an ornament in her home, It was not until a diagnosis of breast cancer that the concept of Sanari Candles was conceptualized. After her diagnosis of breast cancer she removed any and all toxins from her life and wellness became a priority. Unfortunately, after much research, she uncovered information that was the impetus to remove all mainstream candles from her home. Her research unearthed the reality of finding a clean burning, green, non-toxic candle she felt was safe for her and her family was absent from the marketplace.
Sanari Candles is here today because of her diligence in finding a healthy alternative, and is dedicated to being the most natural candle in the world by using only the highest quality organic and green products available.

The Sanari Candle Evaluation
Note: The evaluation is using a 16 oz size candle.
The glass is substantial and very easy to hold in one hand without worry of dropping. The lid is not affixed to the glass, so be aware of this. I particularly like this, as it will not interfere with ideas for after use or risk breaking the glass. Hint: Use as a stand for the candle as it burns.
The pre-light scent is pleasant, not overpowering, and matches the description perfectly.
The wax appears smooth and no frosting affect noted, as you may see in soy candles.
The Wick
The wick is a wide non-bleached cotton. Be sure to trim the wick to about 1/4 inch for the best possible burn and ensure the wax pool reaches the edge. Keep in mind, if the temperature is cool in the environment the wax may not pool to the edges. This is normal. A little trick is to use your propane lighter and warm the edges of the glass or run the flame on the interior until the wax has a nice smooth edge. You will see the wax ease to the edges. Once this happens let the wick do the rest. The pool stayed wide and close to the edges.
Sanari Candle Scents
There are three categories of Sanari candles and come in 8 and 16oz. sizes for your enjoyment
- Floral and fruity
- Citrus and Herbal
- Spicy Woody
Sanari Candles are infused with 100% organic, natural, and kosher certified essential oils. If you are used to traditionally scented candles using chemically based scents this candle will be much milder than others. Personally, I find this a pleasant and refreshing change. Traditional candles can be a bit overpowering and in some cases, because of the chemicals used to create the scent, and can be irritating to the eyes, nasal passages, cause a sore throat, and activate persons with reactive airway disease, such as asthma.
Even though anyone can react to a scent of any kind, using essential oils as an ingredient one will know the product scent, and it you are prone to reactivity you can avoid use of the candle all together. Traditional candles, however, can have over 100 chemicals to arrive at a scent making it more difficult to determine.
How did Sanari Stand Up to the Competition?
First Ligthing
Before lighting the candle be sure to trim the wick to 1/4 inch. Since the wide cotton wick is easy to clip, A simple nail clipper made the perfect cut. Initially, the candle emits little scent as the pool begins to form. In fifteen minutes of burn time, the pool was nearly to the edge. I account the coolness of the environment and the thin glass for a slight edge around the pool. A little added heat to the glass and the pool came right to the edge and stayed there. A pleasant an mild aroma filled the space and continued for another 15 minutes. When it was time, I snuffed the candle out with the lid. It works nicely. I always recommend snuffing a candle instead of blowing out a candle to entrap any smoke that may fill the air. After all, I want the scent of the candle to linger, not the burning smell of a wick blown out, no matter the type.
Wax Pool After 30 minutes of Burn Time
Second Lighting
Beginning of Second Lighting
Upon lighting the candle the second time, I trimmed the wick as specified. There was no residual specks of the wick from the first burn, so no need to wipe the top. If this happens, it is normal. Simply wipe the top of the wick residual and light. The flame is bright and the wax melts quicker the second time around. In addition, the aroma of the candle is also more notable. Following the same time frame, the pool of wax followed the same as the first lighting. What I like about the mixture of the coconut and soy is the smooth texture on the top of the candle. I also noted there was no residual ash on the top of the candle, as you may find with a traditional cotton wicks or wood wick candles.
Wax Pool with Second Lighting after 30 Minutes of Burn Time
Third Lighting
Upon the third lighting, I did not need to trim the wick. The aroma was immediately notable and the pooling was slow but reached the edges without problem.
I am going to take a wild guess here, and until the candle is completely burned. The routine will be much the same.
Cool Down after Third Burning for 30 Minutes.
My Jar is Empty. Now What?
Simply rinse the glass with soapy water and dry. Place the glass in your cabinet. Use it as a stemless wine glass or serve with other beverages. The lids even stack nicely, and make nice coasters. Being able to keep and use the candle jar is one of my favorite parts of this brand.
Now time to light another one, and enjoy a nice cold beverage…cheers!
